Hello, I am Alma Mickelson. This is my 10th year teaching Kindergarten at Lamoni Elementary. Prior to that I taught pre-school for 4 years in Central Decatur. I received my bachelor's degree from Graceland University with early childhood and reading endorsements. When teaching children to read, I like incorporating visual phonics and sign language. This allows children to give a kinesthetic movement to sounds and reading. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, working on the farm, and learning new things.
