High School Cheerleaders Win 5th Place!

Huge congratulations to Joe Kacmarynski, Brandy Boswell and the Lamoni High School Cheerleaders for their 5th place finish at the state cheer competition in Des Moines, Iowa.    The evolution of our cheer program has been amazing and a testament to their hard work, passion, and dedication.  Many of these cheerleaders were two sport athletes who started their days at 5:30am with cheer practice and ended their days with volleyball practice or games.    We’re so proud of you all!

Veteran's Day Breakfast & Ceremony

Lamoni CSD will be having a Veterans Day breakfast and ceremony on Monday, November 11th.  Veterans and their guests are invited to attend the breakfast at 7:30am and the community is invited to attend the ceremony at 8:15am.

Thank You For Your Service!

The LHS football team is excited to partner with the Iowa National Guard for a special recognition event at our home football game this Friday, Oct. 4th.  During halftime, we will be recognizing and honoring all veterans and active duty service members in attendance.  Admission to this game will be FREE for veterans and active duty service members, as we are honored to have you with us as our special guests.  This is a chance for us to come together as a community to honor and celebrate the incredible sacrifices made by . . .

Ambrose Savage Goes To State!!

On Friday, May 17th, LHS Junior Ambrose Savage will compete at the State Track meet. Ambrose is entering the state meet ranked in the top ten among 1A discus throwers. There will be a send-off rally in the school gym starting at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to come support Ambrose and wish him good luck.

Last Day of LEEP Preschool

Thursday, May 16th, was the last day of LEEP preschool at Lamoni Elementary.  To celebrate their last day, the students and teachers walked down to the Dairy Cup and were treated to ice cream cones.  Thank you Rob Johnson at Dairy Cup for the yummy ice cream!

Spring 2024 K-12 Bus Evacuation Drills

  On Friday, May 10th, Lamoni students (K-12) participated in bus evacuation drills. These drills are held twice a year to remind students of expected bus behavior and give them a chance to practice emergency bus procedures, such as radio operation and locating/utilizing alternative exits.    A HUGE THANK YOU to the bus drivers who helped us out with this… Stacy Jones,  Dylan Lame & Jon Hampton!!

The Great Apple Crunch

On October 11, 2023, the Iowa Farm to School & Early Care Network sponsored the statewide Great Apple Crunch to celebrate Iowa farmers, healthy kids, and strong communities.  Lamoni CSD participated with delicious apples for lunch!

Lamoni Community School District participated in Iowa's Healthiest State Walk on Wednesday, October 4th.  Students of all ages participated by walking with their classes throughout the day.

Bus Evacuation Drills for Elementary

On Tuesday, October 3rd, kindergarten thru fifth graders participated in Bus Evacuation Drills to learn about bus safety and what to do in case of an emergency on the bus.  A special thanks goes out to our bus drivers, Jon Hampton, Chris Coffelt and Mark Patience for driving the busses and talking with our students about how to stay safe!

Conservation Poster Contest Winners

Lamoni Elementary had 9 Conservation Poster Winners who received prizes ranging from $5 to $15.  The theme this year was "One Water."  Don Templeton was here from the Decatur County Conservation Board to present the prizes and congratulate our winners.

LCSD Staff Donate Hot Chocolate to the Lamoni Food Pantry

The Lamoni Community School District staff donated 48 boxes of hot chocolate to the Lamoni Food Pantry this week!  The hot chocolate will be added to Holiday Meal Baskets prepared and donated to area residents in December.  Way to go staff!

Red Ribbon Week

On Monday, November 26th, Lamoni Elementary students and teachers took time out of class to tie red ribbons on the elementary playground fence to show their support of healthy choices.  This year's Red Ribbon theme is Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free.  Teachers will be talking with students this week about  staying drug free and how they can shape the community we live in through positivity, bravery and strength.
