Lamoni FFA Petting Zoo & BBQ a Success

Lamoni Community Schools held its annual FFA Petting Zoo and BBQ today, and it was a fantastic event for students and the community. Middle and high school students showcased various animals, giving elementary classes and public visitors a fun, hands-on learning experience. Students also hosted educational stations, and many guests enjoyed browsing the FFA Plant Sale in the greenhouse. Thank you to all the students, staff, and community members who made this year’s event a big success!

The Lamoni Community School District proudly announces that senior Meredith Howell has been named a 2025 Iowa Governor's Scholar, one of the state's most prestigious academic honors. HS Girls Break Two School Records!

  Track season is underway and the LHS teams are off to a fast start! Two school records have already fallen for the girls. A new record time was set in the 800m Sprint Medley. The 49 year-old record was 2.01.3. That 1976 team was made up of our very own Laura Jeanes (Prall), Julie Boswell, Sue Hunter & Jana Zinzer. The team of Karlee Hamaker (100), Elliott Kinder (100), Allyson Martin (200) & Taylor Henson (400) set the new record with a time of 1.59.96.    These four girls also . . .

Spring Bus Evacuations

Today was our final bus evacuation drill of the year! The students (PK-12) were reminded about emergency procedures. They discussed alternative bus exits and radio operation, as well as general bus safety. A BIG "thank you" to our bus drivers, Mr. Hampton and Mr. Lame, for leading the drills today.

HS Girls Win BGC Conference!

High School Cheerleaders Win 5th Place!

Huge congratulations to Joe Kacmarynski, Brandy Boswell and the Lamoni High School Cheerleaders for their 5th place finish at the state cheer competition in Des Moines, Iowa.    The evolution of our cheer program has been amazing and a testament to their hard work, passion, and dedication.  Many of these cheerleaders were two sport athletes who started their days at 5:30am with cheer practice and ended their days with volleyball practice or games.    We’re so proud of you all!

Thank You For Your Service!

The LHS football team is excited to partner with the Iowa National Guard for a special recognition event at our home football game this Friday, Oct. 4th.  During halftime, we will be recognizing and honoring all veterans and active duty service members in attendance.  Admission to this game will be FREE for veterans and active duty service members, as we are honored to have you with us as our special guests.  This is a chance for us to come together as a community to honor and celebrate the incredible sacrifices made by . . .

Spring 2024 K-12 Bus Evacuation Drills

  On Friday, May 10th, Lamoni students (K-12) participated in bus evacuation drills. These drills are held twice a year to remind students of expected bus behavior and give them a chance to practice emergency bus procedures, such as radio operation and locating/utilizing alternative exits.    A HUGE THANK YOU to the bus drivers who helped us out with this… Stacy Jones,  Dylan Lame & Jon Hampton!!

Red Ribbon Week

On Monday, November 26th, Lamoni Elementary students and teachers took time out of class to tie red ribbons on the elementary playground fence to show their support of healthy choices.  This year's Red Ribbon theme is Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free.  Teachers will be talking with students this week about  staying drug free and how they can shape the community we live in through positivity, bravery and strength.
