Demon Volleyball Win Mount Ayr Tournament

Mount Ayr Volleyball Tournament ChampionsHS Demon Volleyball played in the Mount Ayr Tournament Saturday, September 18. They started off the day taking on Wayne and won in two, 21-8 in the first and 21-12 in the second. After defeating Wayne the Demon Volleyball team next took on Interstate 35 and were able to defeat them in two as well, 21-5 in the first and 21-14 in the second. Next on the bracket was Mount Ayr. The Volleyball team was able to defeat the Raiders in two, 21-10 and 21-11. This set the Demons up to face Shenandoah in the semi-finals. Taking on Shenandoah in the semi-finals the Demon Volleyball team was able to win in two yet again, 25-13 in the first and a closer 25-20 in the second. This win over Shenandoah set the Demon Volleyball team up to take on East Mills in the championship round.
Taking on East Mills in the championship round, the the Volleyball team was able to, yet again, win in two. The first match ended 25-19 while the second was much closer, 29-27. With this win over East Mills, the Demon Volleyball team came away as Mount Ayr Tournament Champions! This is their second tournament win of the season. The Demon Volleyball team is currently undefeated at 15-0 and ranked 12th in the state for class 1A.
