Students to Learn Stop-Motion Animation from LCSD Alumnus
Lamoni CSD alumnus who graduated in 2000 and former Iowa City K-12 art teacher, Mark Jones, will be at Lamoni Schools this week (April 10-14) to teach students in grades 6-12 about stop-motion animation. Stop-motion animation is a process of taking photographs of objects in various positions. When combined, the multiple photographs create the appearance of the inanimate objects as moving. Jones, after leaving the Iowa City school district after 7 years, is now a freelance artist and workshop organizer.
During the week-long workshop, classes will complete a stage in the development of their stop-motion animation each day. Ultimately, each class will have created unique stop-motion animations.
