National Honor Society Inducts New Members
Lamoni High School’s annual induction ceremony for the National Honor Society took place on Wednesday, April 19th. A total of four students were inducted into the school’s chapter this year: Grace Martin, Amarillo Reyes, Brett Boswell, and Dixie Dickens.
Membership in the local chapter of the National Honor Society is based on outstanding scholarship, character leadership, and service. To be eligible for membership, the student must be a member of the sophomore or junior class. Students must have been in attendance at Lamoni High School for the equivalent of one semester. The student must have a cumulative scholastic average of 90% or higher.
To be inducted into the National Honor Society, students must also pass a character evaluation done by the teachers at Lamoni Community Schools, and then complete an application process presided over by five staff members.
Becoming a member of the National Honor Society requires a student to go above and beyond what is normally required, and accepting that membership is a solemn pledge to continue to do so.
Recognizing these students for their outstanding work and dedication to improving the world around them is a privilege for their sponsor, Mr. Edens, who enjoys the time he gets to spend with these students.
