Girl's Track Team Takes on Two Meets
On April 11th, the Lamoni Girls HS Track team competed at Central Decatur. The girls finished tied for 7th out of 14 teams. Haelyn Olson came away with a great win in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:55.57. Lauren Olson placed second in the 800 in 2:44.77 which is leading the Bluegrass conference. Emaleigh Pierschbacher placed second in a thrilling 400 with a time of 1:07.53.
On April 15th the girls competed at the Moravia meet and placed 3rd out of 10 teams. Elizabeth Blackwood has charged onto the scene in the 400 meter hurdles winning with a time of 1:20.29 and is leading the Bluegrass conference in the event. Lauren Olson paced the field in the 800 and won going away with a time of 2:45.85. Haelyn Olson won the 1500 again with a time of 5:57 and she also placed third in the Discus. Karlee Hamaker placed 3rd in the 200, the sprint medley team of Ava Courtney, Madison Davis, Naliyah Nary, and Lauren Olson placed second, missing 1st place by .03 seconds!
