Seymour Tornado Relief
Dear Community:
We have been overwhelmed with requests from students and community members wanting to assist the community of Seymour in their relief efforts. I want each of you to know that we have been in constant contact with them since the day of the event and we are putting a plan in place for our kids and community members to be able to respond accordingly.
Right now, they are overwhelmed with support. At this time, volunteers are actually being turned away. This is a good problem, but also one that could cause logistical nightmares for trained relief personnel currently on site. As we continue to evaluate how we can assist in immediate efforts, we would also like to respond at a later time when the number of volunteers might be depleted.
We know that this will be a long road of recovery and that rebuilding efforts will take years to accomplish. We want to pledge to assist Seymour in these efforts, not only now, but in the days to come. Again, I would like to thank each of you for your concerns and thoughts for our colleagues and students in Seymour. We will keep you posted on what we can do to assist.
Sincerely,
Alan Dykens
